Blessing the stoles of the Moderator and Vice-Moderator at the Synod Meeting in 2023

The Synod of Lakes and Prairies was the first synod of the PC(USA) to accept the Matthew 25 invitation.

Our Mission

Our mission is to partner with our presbyteries to support and equip their congregations as they promote the vitality of communities of faith, hope, love and service. We work toward this mission through strategic service and witness (including reparative giving, racial and intercultural justice and building Matthew 25 communities) as well as leadership development and support.  Finally, as part of the connectional nature of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Synod of Lakes and Prairies offers resources and services in areas where it makes sense to do things together rather than separately.

Our Vision for the Future

The Synod of Lakes and Prairies has a mission statement and strategic mission plan for 2019-2024 that lays out three broad priorities of partnership with its presbyteries.

The three Strategic Priorities are:

Priority A

Partner with our presbyteries to be the hands and feet of Presbyterian Church (USA) mission strategy. See Our Mission Priorities for current initiatives.

Priority B

Partner with presbyteries as they attract, support and retain high quality leadership for their communities of faith, hope, love, and service. See Engaging Leaders for current activities.

Priority C

Partner with presbyteries by providing resources and services that can best be done together. More information is found at the Resources and Grants tab.
